Vietnam is one of the most gay-friendly countries in South East Asia. Same sex relationships and marriages are legal in Vietnam and Viet Pride marches take place in Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi.
Vietnamese people are extremely hospitable and welcoming and provided you show discretion and respect for local culture you will not experience any problems in Vietnam. There is a low-key gay culture in both Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City with a number of gay friendly and gay owned establishments. In the smaller towns and villages that have not yet been fully exposed to LGBT culture you may experience some side glances; this is curiosity not hostility.
Vietnam: A country of diversity and kindness
Vietnam is not only an interesting destination for foreign travellers, but also a country of diversity and kindness. You are encouraged to be the true and best version of yourself while you are here. Whether you’re from a wonderful country that already has equality for LGBT+, or you’re from a still-conservative country where you have to hide yourself, Vietnam and its people offer an opportunity for you to share your story, your emotions, and your heart with whilst at the same time seeing some of the most beautiful and diverse scenery in the world.
Lotus Tours are very familiar with same-sex travel and understand that you may be concerned about what is acceptable locally. We are here to make your trip easy and comfortable and your travel experience unique and memorable.
